dr-diggissDR. CHARLES DIGGISS, Jr., Surgeon Dr. Diggiss graduated with the class of 1980 – The University of the West Indies, Mona Faculty of Medicine. Following General Surgical Training, he was successful in obtaining the final fellowship in General surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow, Scotland in 1987. In the early 90’s, he certified in Laparoscopic General Surgery and has since extended this modality to advanced applications. In 2008 he re-introduced the Lab-Band (Obesity Surgery) to the Bahamas. As the Surgeon placing the LapBands in the Bahamas, Dr. Diggiss established a multi-disciplinary weight management program: RITEWEIGH. Today, Dr. Diggiss performs almost exclusively the Gastric Sleeve operation. Dr. Diggiss, is the Chief Medical Officer at Doctors Hospital and also the Chairman of the TheMedNet Group of Companies of which HealthWise Ltd d.b.a. The RiteWeigh Program is a Member Company.

Coping mechanisms for stress management and changing the relationship with sugar calories are his featured topics. Dr. Malcolm is a certified Clinical Pastoral Counselor.

KAREN KNOWLESdr-knowles
is a patient care technician and a certified Obesity Support Group Facilitator. She is the patient advocate and she shares the surgical journey with our patients.
